The various grades of Silica available are as under:
Silica Extender due to the particle shape, the large particle size and low oil absorption are very helpful in manufacture of wood filler, it is most suitable to fill the pores in open grain woods
Silica extenders are most inert to acids and alkalies, which makes it useful in coatings to give toughness and abrasion resistance.
Due to excellent wearing resistance, it is used in Traffic Paint for Making Roadway.
It is also widely used in knifing putties
